Hi Dave,

I agree with your comments. Also, there are people out there who buy a new printer when they run out of ink, thinking that it is cheaper to get a new printer rather than new ink. As we know most printers only have a starter cartridge with less ink. This practice costs more in the long run and our landfills are becoming full of printers that could have been reused or recycled to another individual. The least expensive way to purchase ink is to have your cartridges refilled locally.

The other iniquitous practice is the use of "Starter Cartridges" in new printers which are only filled to about 25% capacity. This is real sharp practice! In many cases these cannot be refilled (my OKI 3300 is a case in point). So not only does this cost money but it adds to the plastic scrap going to landfill. The OFT should come down hard on the printer manufacturers for this.

Dear Gab,

Sorry to hear that you are having so much trouble with your HP309a. Ours only had the radio/Bluetooth problem, that being said, it doesn’t get that much use. I’ve found a lot of happy customers using the Brother MFC-J615w printer which takes 4 different cartridges. The beauty of this one is it is easy to setup and the refill price on the cartridges is reasonable, black $15.99 and colour $7.99 and there is no chip to contend with.

Thank you for your comments

This printer is pure rubbish. No offence to hp but i had a photosmart 2710 and it worked better than my 309a. It's loud, bulky and it vibrates a lot. I just decided to warn you off from this product because it's a waste of your money. Not only does it not print when you want to but the User interface on that small screen is almost frustrating to use. Throw in the navigation bar and you feel like smacking the thing. In addition, I place the printer on a very stable and rigid desk and it vibrates to the point where the table shakes when it prints. However, one of the most annoying things about the 309a is that it breaks down very easily! I had warnings that my printer head was not genuine hp and then in another occasion the printer just simply refusing to print at all. I had my printer replaced 2 times by hp. They said they couldn't fix it and gave me a new 309a which i was very disappointed. Good customer support but very dissatisfied with the product.

Good Afternoon Chris,
Thanks for taking the time to read the post and comment.

Sorry I can’t help you with a referral in that area however, we can send refilled cartridges out via Canada Post to your location if you are interested.

Hi Karen.
Newmarket is a bit far for me to go (without a car!)
Do you know of a similar or co-operating business near Highway 427 and Bloor Street? I'm due south of the airport.
Thanks

Mark, thank you for your question. Cartridge World does not sell or recommend the use of toner kits. We remanufacture cartridges on site with specific toner for each cartridge.

Toner is made up of very small particles which can become airborne if not handled correctly. Cartridges need to be thoroughly cleaned out of OEM toner so as not to mix with the aftermarket toner. Also, in many cases some of the internal components must be changed for quality prints and many cartridges require a new chip to function.
