The cartridges were remanufactured by a company and sold by one of our competitors. The problem was the inconsistency of products used. Two of the cartridges had OEM drums and the other 2 had their OCP drums changed, however, they were from a different manufacturer.

End Users, previously happy with remanufactured cartridges, find that they can only use original cartridges after accepting an upgrade. Samsung changes the printer to make the printer not accept the aftermarket cartridge and chip.

Of course, many companies want to be environmentally sensitive, but the main reason companies use re-manufactured cartridges is to save money. Most re-manufactured cartridges cost considerably less than OEM cartridges and are comparable quality and reliability. In fact, many re-manufactured cartridges last longer, as they often have up to 20 percent more toner than OEM cartridges.

By accepting firmware upgrades for your printer, you could potentially lock out the use of refilled printer cartridges. This means you may only be able to use original cartridges supplied by your printer manufacturer, which will in turn increase the amount you spend on printer cartridges.

One of our valued customers recently came to us after learning a valuable lesson. This area business decided they could probably save even more money buy purchasing “refilled” cartridges on-line rather than from Cartridge World. We got a call from that area business last week and their message couldn’t have been clearer: you get what you pay for!

In the last couple of weeks, I have had calls from some of my business clients who were looking for a new printer. It seems that these days the big box stores are pushing the new HP Officejet line of inkjet printers. This type of printer was recommended over a laser printer.
One of the most popular models is the HP Officejet Pro 8500 series which takes the 940 cartridge.
I have read some of the comments on the HP site and it seems like this printer is a dud.

Since July 2005, Cartridge World Newmarket has been helping local residents and businesses save money on their printer ink and toner cartridges. The demand for our products has continually risen. With a full-time staff of 4, we outgrew our 850 sq. ft unit and have recently relocated to a unit measuring 2,100 sq. ft.
